The construction of this two story 9826 square foot Law office building in Middlebury began in September of 2014 and the move in date was August of 2015. There was an existing 1920’s 2 story building on site that needed remediation and demolition prior to excavation. The constraints when building this office building included a very steep elevation change. A large 8’ high stone retaining wall that is at least 400’ long needed to be constructed at the rear of the property that boarders Route 84. A high water table and bedrock impacted the site work schedule. Drilling and blasting were required. The excavated area filled with ground water so we had to reengineer the drainage. There was a tremendous amount of blasted material that was repurposed behind the large retaining wall.

This 9,826 square foot custom office building is comprised of the finest building materials. There are 26 separate offices, 5 conference rooms, 2 kitchens, 2 his and 2 her baths- one with shower, copy room, and a very large file room that is open above to all the surrounding hallways.

When you first walk through the double glass entry doors to the reception area, you are welcomed by custom raised panels and crown molding that give a warm comfortable feeling. One of the offices has custom raised panels and crown molding, while another office has crown molding and chair rail. The building utilizes sound dampening ceiling panels throughout to help with privacy. The conference rooms are well appointed and inviting with plush carpets, soothing colors, and tray ceilings. This building incorporates form and function to create a welcoming atmosphere for all.

The exterior is Cedar Impressions with natural stone and PVC trim. There is a large blue stone patio for everyone to enjoy with a stone sitting wall surrounded by gardens. As you can see by the photographs, the large elevation change was addressed by a sweeping stone staircase and custom retaining walls built on site using the stone from the property. The landscaping is fully sprinklered, and already very well established. The parking lot has granite curbing for a beautiful classic look, and is well lit with decorative light posts.
